Enterprise Single Sign-On

The number of passwords used by individuals continues to grow and individuals are hard-pressed to remember all of them. Gone are the days of the mainframe where each user basically had to remember only one password. Evolution to client/server applications and the Internet has dramatically increased the number of passwords we use and have to remember. Due to this increase a common challenge has emerged: how do we keep track of all of our passwords and system identities. At the same time, IT managers are also struggling and asking questions such as:

  • How can help desk costs associated with forgotten passwords be reduced?
  • How are staff members convinced not to write down their passwords on postits?
  • How are passwords associated with privileged accounts secured, controlled and audited?

The pursuit of single sign-on (SSO) for the enterprise was born out of the need to reduce the costs associated with having many user IDs and passwords which in operational, security and efficiency costs is significant. The MySecureID Key Solution provides a set of enabling technologies that simplifies identity and access management, approaches enterprise single sign-on and offers a unique solution that addresses most of the challenges faced by corporation and individuals.
